Artesian Well Drilling

Year-Round Drilling Service

The Experteau team has superior expertise in artesian well drilling and groundwater collection in the Laurentians and Lanaudière regions. Our team is made up of experienced drillers who are committed to a job well done. Installing a well requires knowledge and experience to ensure it’s done safely, both for your health and to preserve your water source.

Unlike a surface well, which draws water from the water table near the surface of the ground and is therefore exposed to contamination risks, an artesian well provides access to higher quality water. This water, trapped under an impermeable layer of soil, is naturally protected from pollutants (bacteria, agricultural activities, discharges from leaky septic systems, etc.). It is everyone’s responsibility to preserve it.

Experteau understands the importance of this resource and takes care to protect it during drilling. Each project is carried out in strict compliance with the Water Withdrawal and Protection Regulations (RPEP).

Choosing Experteau

for your artesian well drilling means…

Exceptional expertise since 1979

    • Our team will advise you on the type of well that is perfectly suited to your needs.
    • We have long-standing expertise that has been passed down from generation to generation for over 45 years.

Drilling services available year-round

  • Our services are available 12 months a year, summer and winter.

Environmentally friendly drilling

  • Our qualified team complies with all regulations, including ensuring a minimum distance of 30 meters between your well and any potential source of contamination.
  • We only use new materials, such as certified steel pipe, and we make sure that the well is perfectly sealed. This prevents your well from being affected by surface water.
  • Our hydraulic oils are biodegradable, and our equipment is always clean so as not to contaminate your environment.

Rigorous monitoring throughout the project

  • We take the time to determine the water flow and the amount of water required for your needs. At the end of each drilling, we completely disinfect the well.
  • Our advisor will then assist you with purging your well and analyzing the water. If the water contains excessive levels of minerals or undesirable elements, we will assist you in selecting an appropriate water treatment solution.
  • Our mission is to support you from water collection to achieving the desired water quality, all while respecting your budget and needs.

How much does an artesian well cost?

You should expect to pay between $15,000 and $20,000 for the installation of a complete artesian well, including its pumping system (with a suitable submersible pump). In some cases, depending on the nature of the soil, the cost may exceed these amounts. We will research your area to provide you with the most accurate quote possible.

Don’t hesitate to contact us to obtain a more accurate quote. We have access to an internal database as well as public data to facilitate the process. We will research your area to determine the average costs associated with an artesian well. This allows us to provide you with the most accurate estimate possible for the drilling of your well and the installation of a pumping system.

What is the required depth for an artesian well?

In the Laurentians, the depth usually varies from 100 to 400 feet (approximately 30 to 120 meters) below the surface.

How far in advance should drilling be planned?

Ideally the project should be planned 3 months in advance. However, for urgent cases, Experteau can often intervene within a few weeks.
